When I say “I love you”
I am not using it for the same reasons
Many others do…
I do not use it to entrap
And snare
And entangle one in my life…
I use it to express
The freedom & flight
Of my heart
I love you is not obligation
Or responsibility
(Who turned it into that?)
“I love you” is clarity
A pure vision
Of self, & of seeing self
In others, and in the world around us.
The light in me sees the light in you
I love you…
Can you feel that
And receive it
Without questioning my motives?
Or what I want in return?
Can you let it fully pass through you
Without expecting anything else from me?
Can you absorb it
And let it wash over and through you
Like an emotional orgasm
Or do you reject it
with doubt
And questions
About your own worthiness?
I love you
This does not require any maintenance.
It is a gift to do with as you please.
